So…today was another beautiful day in the City…I picked up a couple of the usual suspects RD and TYSG and we headed out to skate at the Island for a bit….but before we hit up the Island we hit up Hubba to see what was good. Of course we had to get around the fence, the foreman dude wasn’t even tripping and let us get a few flicks in and steal a few more bricks for mementos. I guess folks been dropping by all day taking pics of what used to be Hubba Hideout.

Fuuck…a couple weeks ago we were looking for parking to skate the island and saw that they had torn down the lil’ mini-hubba plaza that was across the street from the old Carl’s Jr at Embarko…well, today they tore down the real deal…sad to say there’s no more Hubba Hideout. Shit’s gone gone. Peep the pics. Me and GMAN went on a late night lurk just now…i got some bricks and lil’ “hubba” pebbles…#smoked a nice j one last time at the ol’ spot. Y’all don’t know…or are prolly just tired of hearin’ how we used to lurk up there before it blew up as a skate spot. We spent hella nights (and days_ drinking 40s at that funk statue or up at the round benches. trying to hit the strip of sidewalk down below with the empty bottles. RIP Hubba Hideout.

Puppet’s turning the big 4-OH today so raise those Old E’s up for old times sake and wish him well! Love Pottie! Don’t forget to support Mission Skateboards too! Down on 24th and Treat St. Scot’s been holding it down for the past couple years since he bought the shop from Thorin. Him and Dana got nothing but love for the shop and the ‘hood. And the ‘hood loves’em back! How else do you survive being a skateshop in the City of skating without no ads? word-of-mouth and hella love!
